According to an announcement by Kathy Pelzel, Assistant Superintendent, Rockdale ISD has the following openings on the Campus Education Councils:
Elementary

(1) Community Representative
(1) Business Representative
Intermediate
(1) Parent Representative
(1) Community Representative
(1) Business Representative
Junior High
(1) Parent Representative
(1) Community Representative
(2) Business Representatives
High School
(2) Parent Representatives
(1) Community Representative
(1) Business Representative
Representatives from these groups will be selected to serve on the Campus Educational Councils by the principals and other Council members.
Parent representatives must have students enrolled on the campus for which they apply. Community representatives must reside in Rockdale ISD, be at least 18 years old, and cannot be the parent of a student currently enrolled in the district. Business representatives must own or operate a business, but the business does not have to be located in Rockdale ISD. Parent, community and business representatives cannot be employees of Rockdale ISD.
Applications are available online at www.rockdaleisd.net or can be picked up from the Administration Building at 520 W. Davilla Street. The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, October 2, 2026.
Campus and District Educational Councils serve as advisory groups to the principals and Superintendent, but have no regulatory powers. “This is a great opportunity for our parents and community members to provide input to our district. Our Councils play a vital role in our school improvement process. We look forward to working with all those who apply.” said Mrs. Pelzel.
