Rockdale ISD is proud to announce that its Early Childhood Development Center, the Tiger Learning Center, has officially earned a 4-Star designation from Texas Rising Star, a program sponsored by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).
The 4-Star designation is the highest quality certification awarded by the program, recognizing early learning facilities that go above and beyond the state's minimum child care licensing standards. This marks the 6th year that the Tiger Learning Center has achieved this top-tier rating.
According to Texas Rising Star, programs that advance through initial entry levels to higher certification tiers are increasingly equipped to positively impact the daily cognitive, social, and developmental growth of the children they serve.
"Early childhood is where the foundation for a lifetime of learning is built,” said Pieda Flores, Director of the Tiger Learning Center. “Our team takes tremendous pride in providing quality child care and intentional educational development at every stage, ensuring our youngest learners feel safe, cherished, and excited to grow.”
Following initial Entry-Level Designation, Texas child care programs can earn a 2-Star, 3-Star, or 4-Star rating based on comprehensive evaluations. To determine a facility's star level, assessors evaluate performance across four key categories: Director and Staff Qualifications and Training, Teacher-Child Interactions, Program Administration and Indoor and Outdoor Environments.
To earn the elite 4-Star designation, a facility must achieve an average score of 2.4 or higher across all measured categories, representing 80 percent or more of the total possible points. Multiple classrooms are assessed to ensure consistency across the entire facility.
